  • Information
    All participants must be ready and in place by their respective start group at least 20 minutes before start. There will be a control post by the entrance of each group.
    NM Marathon starts as a separate group ahead of the rest of the field.
    Athletes with disabilities start approx. 10 minutes before the first group at each distance.
  • Start times

Preliminary starting times are as follows;

    • Saturday 24th September;
      • Childrens mararthon – 12.00
      • 3 km – 15.00
    • Sunday 25th September;
      • 10 km – from 09.40
      • Marathon – from 10.15
      • Half Marathon – from 13.30

All participants have to be in their race section at least 20min before start.

  • The collection of race bibs and late entries will take place in the large exhibition tent by the City Hall. This also applies to the Children’s Marathon. To participate in the children’s activities before the race you MUST be signed up to Fokus Bank Oslo Marathon.
    The exhibition grounds will be open at these times:
    Friday 23.09:14.00 – 20.00
    Saturday 24.09: 09.00 – 20.00
    Sunday 25.09: 08.00 – 17.00
  • Fluid stations are about every 5th kilometer.
  • Luggage will be stored at your own risk in separate tents at the Square by the Akershus Fortress. Participants are encouraged to mark their luggage and not to leave any valuables. We can only take care of small backpacks or bags. Please make sure to arrive early, as we expect queues. Opening times are Saturday from 14.00 – 16.00 and Sunday 08:30 – 18.00.
  • Showers and changing rooms are available at all SATS training centers in Oslo. The following are closest to the finishing line: SATS Aker Brygge, SATS Solli Plass and SATS National Theatre.
  • You will find toilets placed on the Fortress Square, around the starting area in Kongensgate and throughout the course by selected fluid stations. Please remember that there might be some queuing by the starting line of the half marathon.
  • Prizes: All participants who complete one of the distances in the Fokus Bank Oslo Marathon will receive this year’s 30-year jubilee medal at the finishing line. The winner in each age group will receive a prize. 1st to 3rd place in the distance will receive their prizes from the stage. Those attending full or half marathon for the 10th time and then every 5th up to the 25th time,  will be awarded a commemorative glass. These can be collected in the prize tent at the Fortress Square. For athletes with disabilities 1/3 will win prizes.  Diploma with times will be available for printing from our results page after the race.
  • Pacemakers: On marathon there will be pacemakers every fifteen minutes from 3 hours and upwards, while at half marathon there will be pacemakers from 1 hour and 30 minutes and every ten minutes to 2 hours and 10 minutes in expected race time.
  • Photography: Marathon Photos is our official supplier of photography during the event on Sunday. Smile to the camera when you approach the finishing line and buy yourself a memory for life on their website afterwards! New this year is a video of yourself crossing the finishing line.
  • Timing system: All participants must wear a Champion Chip in their shoe laces during the run. Please deliver the chip back into the marked the barrels after the finish.
  • Transportation and Parking: We strongly advise our athletes to use public transport. To get to the event, take the train or subway to the Jernbanetorget (by the main railway station), Nasjonalteateret (National Theatre) or Stortinget (Parliament station) and then walk about 300 meters to the Akershus Fortress and the Fortress Square or our exhibition area by the City Hall.

    If you use a car, there are limited places available in multi-storey carparks as well as open air spaces. To find the best alternative, see here
